If you’re living at one of Davao condominium properties then you’re not going to have problems dealing with the summer heat. Just turn on the air conditioner to full blast, grab a bowl of popcorn and movie binge this entire summer vacation. But is this really how you want to spend your much-awaited and much-anticipated summer vacation? Slouching all day and all night in a couch? That is a shame because you will never get the most out of the 7,107 islands we have.

Don’t resign yourself yet to binge watching on your couch because summer is just getting started. You just need a well-thought out plan and a loaded wallet or ATM card to accomplish this. When we say a plan, it includes the safety precautions you must follow to endure the abnormally sweltering heat we are experiencing nowadays. As forecasted by PAGASA, expect warmer days ahead especially in Mindanao and Luzon area. Mindanao? Davao is in Mindanao, right?

The more reason you need to get out the house and go for a dip to cool down. But first, what are the summer safety tips you must bear in mind to avoid sunburn or heat stroke? Never dare to get outside if the temperature is insufferably hot. Wear lightweight and light colored clothing. Even if you’re not going to the beach or pool, always apply sunscreen when going outside during daytime. Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes as well and do not look directly at the sun. Lastly, drink plenty of water and as much as possible always bring a bottle of water with you to keep hydrated.

Alright, let us get to the part where you can fulfill your dream of having an exhilarating summer getaway – choosing a summer destination. What we are going to suggest is more than frolicking in the waters. Do you want a wet and wild summer? Try out these top tourist spots in our country:

Davao River

Extreme Sport Activity: White Water Rafting

You’re one lucky soul if you own one of Davao condominium properties near this area. Stop at Davao Crocodile Park and head to Davao Wildwater Adventure Inc. because they’re the facilitators of the said activity. Based on a travelogue of a TripAdvisor reviewer, it will be 13-kilometer paddling adventure. Better stretch your muscles first because it is going to be a bumpy ride.

Sibulan River

Extreme Sport Activity: Whitewater Tubing

Another gem of Davao, particularly in Darong, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur. Get ready for a short trek on rocky and muddy terrain. Wear appropriate footwear to endure a 100-meter hike. It is best to wear long sleeve rash guard and swim leggings or board shots to prevent getting sunburned.

Magdalena River

Extreme Sport Activity: White Water Rafting

This river is located in Laguna and only a three-hour travel from Manila. The river difficulty is Grade 3 which means it is perfect for beginners. It is shorter than Davao River because it is just seven kilometers long.

Real, Quezon

Extreme Sport Activity: White Water Rafting or Tubing

At the heart of Sierra Madre Mountain Range awaits an adventure not for the faint heart and unfortunately, it is only available during wet season. Well, it is just few months until the rainy days and Quezon is only a six-hour ride by bus or five hours if you have your own vehicle, so might as well give it a try.

Cagayan de Oro River

Extreme Sport Activity: White Water Rafting

There are two courses based on how brave (or experienced) you are: the basic and advanced course. According to River Rafting CDO, The basic course is from Mambuaya to Cabula consists of 14 rapids and takes 3-4 hours to complete. While the advance course starts at Uguiban to Cabula and you need to pass 21 rapids for 4-5 hours.
